District Governor Sandra McGonagle presented Connie Powers with a Paul Harris Award at the District Conference Awards Banquest.  Connie is well known to Rotarians throughout District 7870.  When her husband Pete Powers was District Governor, Connie attended every one his visits to the Clubs.  Pete has served in just about every capacity, and Connie has been his best supporter, and a welcome addition to many a Rotary conference and event in her own right.  Congratulations Connie on your well-deserved recognition for all your contributions to Rotary.

Connie Powers being awarded a Paul Harris Award for her contributions to Rotary

In presenting Connie with her Paul Harris Award, outgoing District Governor Sandy McGonagle made these remarks:

"In Rotary, we are blessed with many partners who understand the mission of Rotary and stand by our side to support our goals and truly make a difference.
Connie Powers is one of those people.  She is the true partner of our Past District Governor, Pete Powers.  During Pete’s tenure as District Governor, Connie attended every Rotary club visit and event in the District.  She travelled with PDG Pete on a mission to Honduras providing support for schools and other humanitarian projects there.
Connie has continued to support the District preparing lunches for many District events. You have surely seen her at the registration table at District Assembly, Foundation dinners and conferences.
Tonight it is our pleasure to present to Connie, the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow for a job well done and for your continuing service to District 7870."
