Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Read more about Rotary International on its website.

The Rotary motto is "Service Above Self," and Hopkinton Rotarians espouse this motto as their own. Hopkinton Rotary is a very active club with a strong mix of individuals from diverse backgrounds coming together to work on community projects as well as the occasional international effort. There are currently 39 members, and we are always happy to welcome a new member.

Some of our on-going projects:
- Hosting an international exchange student every year and at times supporting a local student to experience study abroad.
- Raising over $13,000 annually for scholarships for deserving high school students pursuing post-secondary educational opportunities;
- Supporting the Sean Powers wood bank with funding and volunteers;
- Participating in community-wide activities like Earth Day and roadside clean-up;
- Donating to area non-profits and worthy under-takings thanks to Flags Above Hopkinton;
- Hosting our Annual Senior Luncheon at the Slusser Center every December;
- Holding a Candidates Forum for contested local races;
- Volunteering at Friendly Kitchen;
- Celebrating a Citizen of the Year with a $1,000 donation to his/her favorite charity;
- Supporting the Interact Club at HMHS;
- Holding a 4-Way Speach Contest for high school students.

Hopkinton Rotary is one of 59 clubs comprising Rotary District 7870 which encompasses southern Vermont and southern New Hampshire. Read more about the district on its website.

As visitors to any of our meetings know, Rotarians espouse the principals of the "4-Way Test:"
Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICAL to all concerned?

Hopkinton Rotary celebrated its Twenty Fifth Charter Anniversary during 2021. The Club's official charter date is August 1, 1996.  Bow and Henniker Rotary Clubs were the sponsoring clubs.  Russell Hilliard was the first President, and founding members of the Club included active Rotarians David Feller and Linda Morris and honorary member PDG Pete Powers, as well as Henry Meinzer, Jack Porter, and Tony Walker, in memorium.
